One-Stop Printer PCB Assembly And Manufacturing Services
Consons is an EMS provider specializing in electronics manufacturing. We provide turnkey custom PCBA services covering PCB fabrication, component sourcing, SMT assembly, IC firmware programming, and FCT functional testing.
For printer PCBs, we provide main boards, power boards, and interface boards for laser, inkjet, and thermal printing. We optimize high-frequency signal transmission, to ensure stable Wi-Fi and USB data communication. The PCB also has reliable operation stability; during long-term high-volume printing, the solder joints will not crack due to high temperatures.
In addition, our production system has passed international certifications such as ISO9001, ISO14001, IATF16949, and ISO13485. Our products also meet UL flame retardant requirements and RoHS environmental regulations; your products can be exported smoothly to Europe, America, and other markets.
Types of Our Printer PCB

It is responsible for the main control data processing, printhead drive signal output, paper feeding motor control, ink cartridge identification, and sensor feedback of the inkjet printers.

In these printers, the PCB manages the laser scanning control, high-voltage charging, transfer and fusing control, main control data processing, power management, and interface circuits.

The PCB controls the heating timing of the thermal printhead, paper feed motor, cutter, and sensors. It also handles the data communication among USB, Bluetooth, and serial ports.

We provide the manufacturing of main control boards, scanning control boards, interface boards, power boards, and bring efficient integration of different printer functions.

In these types of printers, the PCB is responsible for ink and water balance control, registration control, paper feeding and paper collection, drying/UV control, PLC, and servo drive control.

In this case, the PCB is responsible for stepper motor control, heated bed/hot end temperature control, limit switch detection, data transmission, and touchscreen interaction.
Features of Consons’ Printer PCB

Our PCB uses high-Tg and low-CTE materials. When the internal temperature of the printer rises, the PCB is less likely to delaminate, and solder joints are less likely to crack.

For high-voltage charging circuits, we use high-voltage insulation material design, to prevent leakage on the high-voltage board and reduce the risk of electric shock.

The printhead drive signal traces use stable, low-loss materials, which ensure clean high-frequency signals and reduce print quality issues such as banding and color shift.

The connector pads use ENIG or OSP surface finishes; this prevents oxidation and poor contact in humid environments, and also reduces issues such as the cartridge not being recognized.
Designed For Harsh Operating Conditions
When your printers may be used in humid environments, we will apply conformal coating, to protect the PCB against moisture, dust, and salt spray. Through this, the risk of short circuits and corrosion will be reduced.
At the same time, we use wide-temperature components to support operation from -40°C to over 100°C. Even when the printer is used in mobile or extreme temperature environments, it can still maintain stable operation.
We also apply reinforcement designs to the key connectors and solder joints, to improve their vibration, drop resistance, and extend the service life of the PCB.

Consons Strict Quality Assurance And Testing Process

For all incoming materials, we check their brand, specifications, batch information, appearance, resistance and capacitance values, and IC authenticity one by one, to prevent incoming material issues from affecting the final products.

Before SMT placement, we carry out SPI solder paste inspection; this can prevent insufficient solder paste or solder bridging. After placement, we conduct AOI and X-Ray automated inspections one by one to check for solder joint defects.

We perform ICT testing to check basic electrical parameters of the PCB, it includes open circuits, short circuits, component values, and polarity.
After that, FCT simulates the printer’s actual operating conditions to verify key functions such as print head drive signals, motor control, sensor feedback, interface communication, high-voltage output, and temperature control.

We create full traceability records by linking each PCB with incoming material batches, solder paste printing parameters, placement machines, reflow oven temperature profiles, AOI/X-Ray inspection results, ICT/FCT test data, and shipping QR codes/batch numbers. When a quality issue occurs, you can quickly identify the affected batch and trace the root cause.

Based on the actual operating environment of printer PCBs, we conduct sampling tests, such as high-temperature aging, low-temperature cold start, and high/low-temperature cycling. If needed, we can also carry out customized aging test plans based on your requirements, including 8-hour, 24-hour, and continuous printing simulations.

Before shipment, we also carry out a final review based on IPC-A-610 Class 2/3 standards. It includes 100% visual inspection and electrical parameter re-testing. Then, to protect the PCBs during transportation, we will add anti-static bags, desiccants, humidity indicator cards, and shock-resistant packaging.
We offer wireless printer PCBs that support WiFi and Bluetooth wireless modules. They can be designed to meet the needs of wireless signal transmission, power voltage resistance, and thermal management.
Yes. We support ultra-small components down to 01005 packages and fine-pitch BGA/QFP components with a 0.3mm pitch.
For BGA assembly, we optimize the reflow soldering profile (controlled within ±5 ℃) and control the BGA void rate below 10%. As for QFP assembly, we use nitrogen reflow soldering and conduct 100% AOI inspection, to detect solder bridging and insufficient solder joints.
Yes. We offer chip-level and board-level programming solutions. Moreover, during the programming process, we protect and encrypt the firmware in the chip, and perform data erasing before shipment when required to protect your IP.
We do not require a fixed MOQ. We support prototype orders from 1 to 10 pcs for initial testing. For regular production, the recommended quantity starts from 500 pcs. Lower quantities can be negotiated for special projects.
Our standard prototype lead time is 5- 7 working days after the order confirmation. For urgent projects, our engineers will review your requirements within 4 hours and provide the fastest possible solution.
Please provide the following files for production:
- Gerber files
- Drill files with hole locations and sizes
- BOM list
In addition, if you have any specific requirements for PCB testing, panelization, or other special processes, please include them as well.
Our typical lead times are:
- 1–6 layer standard FR-4 boards: 7–10 working days after all materials are available.
- Complex boards, including HDI, hybrid PCBs, or designs with more than 5 BGAs: 12–15 working days.
- Full Box-build assembly needs an additional 3–5 working days.
